Manifesto

The AI revolution is being built on a foundation of waste.

While the industry obsesses over acquiring more GPUs, more clusters, more capital, we’re squandering the compute we already have. Across every data center, expensive hardware sits idle more than half the time. We’ve created artificial scarcity while drowning in inefficiency.

This isn’t a hardware problem. It’s a systems problem.

We believe in a different future.

The current path leads to a future where only the largest corporations can afford AI infrastructure, where innovation is gated by nine-figure balance sheets, where the enablers of the internet—the service providers, telcos, and cloud builders who actually deliver reliability, security, and trust—are pushed aside by marketplaces that treat compute like a commodity.

AI infrastructure should be efficient, not wasteful. Accessible, not exclusive. Built by experts who understand service, not platforms that understand only scale.

The real enablers of AI won’t be the hyperscalers. They’ll be the providers who understand their customers, who can deliver specialized models for specific domains, who can build trust through consistency and accountability rather than just raw compute power.

At hosted·ai, we don’t build for the hype cycle. We build for the professionals who will turn AI from science project into reliable service. Who will make it profitable, sustainable, and real.

The hardware future is plural. The model future is specialized. The infrastructure future belongs to those who can do more with what they have, not those who simply buy more of what they don’t need.

Ditlev has spent decades in hosting, cloud and service provider-focused businesses. He has founded six start-ups with four exits to date, and was previously CEO of OnApp, and UK2 Group.

Narendar has extensive expertise in AI, service provider ecosystems and infrastructure technologies, including senior roles at OnApp, Expedia, Cisco, VMware, and Nvidia. He has founded multiple successful startups, leading to acquisitions by companies including Accenture and Akamai.

CTO

Julian was formerly an early member of XenSource, subsequently acquired by Citrix, where he was the storage architect for the XenServer and OSS Xen products. After leading R&D into emerging technologies as OnApp’s Chief Scientific Officer, he became founder, CEO and CTO at Sunlight.io, developing an ultra-high performance virtualization platform that now forms the basis of hosted·ai.

James has extensive experience of running infrastructure and products in hosting and cloud provider businesses, and of building and supporting software platforms that enable service providers to go to market. He was previously product lead for UK2 Group brands, then became CTO at OnApp, and most recently headed IT and Alliances at Virtuozzo.
